Artificial Copper Sulfate Crystals

In this tutorial, you know about, how to make copper sulfate crystals or create blue copper sulfate crystals easily. So let’s discuss step by step procedure of how copper sulfate crystals form.

How to make an Artificial blue Copper Sulfate Crystals CuSO4.5H2O 1

What is Copper Sulfate

Copper sulfate is also known as cubic sulfate or bluestone. Its color is blue when it is in a hydrated form. Moreover, it most commonly exists in Penta hydrated form. Its chemical formula is CuSO4.5H2O molecules. The copper sulfate smell is odorless. The arrangement of atoms and molecules is fixed in Copper sulfate.

Copper(II) sulfate is one of the most fascinating crystals that you can grow easily at home. To create a big blue crystal, you need 4 things: Copper(II) sulfate, a beaker, hot water (200 ml), strong thread, a wooden stick, etc.

Note: Don’t touch the copper sulfate with bare hands. So be careful as it is toxic and irritative.

How to prepare copper sulfate crystals?

Experiment Process:

  1. Add 200 ml of hot water to the beaker.
  2. mix 100 gm of copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate into it.
  3. Now stir well, so that all the remaining powder has dissolved.
  4. After 24 hours, a layer of crystal will is formed inside the beaker.
  5. Next, use the filter to get rid of various impurities.
  6. Moreover, you need to filter dilution every day or once a week, until the crystal is formed.
  7. Leave the glass for a few days to let the crystal form.
  8. After the crystal formation, mash the remaining crystal.
  9. Now choose the smoothest and biggest crystal you found and tie it with a thread.
  10. Now use the stick, to hang the crystal.
  11. Put the crystal into the solution.
  12. After 1st week, you will see the growth of the blue crystal.
  13. After the 2nd week, you will find a bigger crystal.

Finally

After 6 weeks, the crystal is fully generated into a big blue crystal. Leave the crystal until it is dried. Now use the nail polish and rub it onto the crystal. You need to paint the crystal with nail polish.
