Alexa – A Globally Paid Spy

Alexa: We are so into technology that we can’t think of a single instance without it. IoT (Internet of things) has made almost everything on our fingertips. We are heading to artificial intelligence; ask yourself do you trust Amazon, Google or Microsoft?

A recent case was reported by a couple who were terrified to know that their private discussion was being recorded y Amazon’s Alexa which is a home assistant. This conversation was later emailed to a work colleague. Moreover, the terrified couple stated that had Amazon Echo installed in every room and they were going with the trend of being smart in every other way.

They were shocked to see that Amazon Alexa had recorded their private conference and emailed it all to the work contact.

“I felt invaded. A total privacy invasion. Immediately I said, ‘I’m never plugging that device in again because I can’t trust it.’’

Sadly this is what happens when you place a corporate AI (artificial intelligence) spyware to record almost everything in your home.

Amazon’s Response – Satisfactory Enough?

Amazon, the multi-million dollar company, responded to the issue saying that it might be triggered a faulty or misunderstood command.

In a statement to the USA Today, Amazon said;

Everything can be recorded in the same manner just as mentioned in the terms and service. Amazon can use all the data you feed in it. It is no different than tech giants like Google and Facebook.

Why does all this matter?

This home assistance is of many uses, but the data they record can be used to;

  • Spy you for government authorities.
  • Use your data for social engineering.
  • Influence your decision process.
  • Expose your private life to random people. They may range from Amazon employees to government officials and even your work colleagues.

Does Home Assistance and AI Make Us Stupid?

This is an understatement, plus people are not talking about it, in short technology does make an individual. Researchers who are studying and analyzing IQ for years have seen a continual decline in IQ in Europe. Point being, technology does make you stupid or at least attribute to such changes.

Perhaps this is the reason why Steve Jobs refused to give his kids iPads or any other electronic gadgets. Intuitively all this should make sense since people are more dependent over technology, it is increasingly important to understand how tech fundamentally affects our cognitive abilities.

The recent surge in the use of smart devices has made people more and more dependent on smart technology. This has infected our cognitive abilities, and the recent trend of AI is set to stimulate this infection.

If you still think that Alexa is enough to do “Everything” for you, then God bless you!

Those eyes are watching, and the reality of the situation is clear up ahead. You are living in a dystopia with several consequences that are directly a threat to privacy, health, and intelligence.

Luckily you can still opt out and use best VPN to evade from all this hassle.
