So we are going to start a fresh install of Windows 10. As there is plenty number of different ways in which you can access the troubleshooter screen.

A troubleshooter screen allows you to go into Recovery options. You may choose to boot from a Windows 10 bootable DVD or USB stick. You can also choose the troubleshooter menu if you like to boot into Windows from the desktop.

Method 1

Press the “Start” button then tap on the “Power button“. At this point, you need to hold down & keep your finger to the Shift key on your keyboard while you hit “Restart“.

Once you hit “Restart“, keep your finger on that shift key for further 5 seconds & then release it. This will then bring you to the Windows troubleshooter screen.

On the advanced startup menu option, you may then select to troubleshoot your PC & then you have the “Reset this PC” option. You can further choose to keep your files & settings. It would be a better option for you to restore Windows or remove everything completely to refresh your PC.

Method 2

Right-click on the “Start” menu & then choose “Control Panel“. Once you are on the control panel, you will see the option for “Recovery“.

Click on the “Recovery” link in the control panel then you will see on the bottom of this screen saying :

Just click on this link, it will then take you to a similar screen “Update & Security“.

On this screen click on the “Get started” button under Reset this PC. This is similar to the previous screen of booting using shift restart or bootable Windows DVD.

After that, you will be given the 2 options here to “keep my files” or “Remove everything” like apps & settings but keeps all your personal files like document, picture, video & music, etc.

You may also choose the second option, that is remove everything & get a fresh copy of Windows 10 which is the best solution.

So it totally depends upon you to choose according to your current present situation. If you click on remove everything here, this will go through the getting things ready screen. Next, it will ask you whether you like to remove your files or do a complete wipe of the hard drive system.

Click on the option just remove my files that are going to remove all your Apps, personal account & settings. You are going to get a completely clean installation of Windows 10.

So on the next screen that says “Ready to reset this PC”, simply hit the reset button & it will start to go through the re-installation process of Windows 10. The re-installation process of Windows 10 may take from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the speed of your system.

Moreover, your PC will also restart several times. You will then further prompted for regional settings. Just enter your country & your current time zone, finally, click on the Next button.

Accept the license agreements by clicking the accept button. Next, you can choose express settings & continue the installation. On the following screen, you can choose to login with a Windows Live ID to sign in to your PC. You will then be asked to sync with one drive. After that, it’s all done.

Moreover, you can also boot to this particular menu on this particular screen using your Windows 10 bootable DVD.
