How To Fix DNS Error – First of all you need to know, What is DNS and how does it work? Do you know how the internet really works when you share or surf files online? Well, it is a database of the network name and IP addresses. The online culture or internet does not exist without having DNS. Without DNS, activities like Shopping, Research, Web browsing, and Downloading will not be possible. It is a comprehensive translation system useful in searching on the net. It is a system that assigns user-friendly names to unique IP addresses and translates data into words or phrases, to provide accurate search results online. DNS server problems are sometimes got complicated and become a headache for some people.

How to fix the DNS error “DNS server is not responding”?

Method 1

So now it’s time to fix your connection to the internet. For this, you need to reset your IP address.

Go to Start and type Cmd, Right-click on Cmd and run as an administrator [As it requires some special permissions to access ].

Type netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

netsh transfer network shell and int internal ip is internet protocol. This command resets your net IP address. Press enter after typing, as to execute the command in CMD that says.

You need to restart the computer to take some effect. After restarting you need to reset the Win sock. Again open Cmd mention as above and type netsh winsock reset

Type ipconfig /flushdns Press enter

Method 2

Go to Start and type ncpa.cpl This will open your network connections and you can see your all network connections. Select your network connection which is used to connect the internet to your PC. Right-click and select properties, as this will opens the network properties. Now select Internet protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4) and click on its properties.

Now click on Use The Following DNS Server Addresses: and fill open-source DNS.

Preferred DNS Server  – 208. 67. 222. 222

Alternate DNS Server – 208. 67. 220. 220

Press the OK button and close. Now go to your network connections and disconnect your internet and reconnect it again. Your DNS error problem is now fixed.

Method 3

Use Google public DNS – How to configure your network settings using Google public DNS. For this, you need to go to the control panel and click on Network and Sharing Center. Click on Manage network connections and select the network which you need to configure the Google public DNS. Right-click and select properties of your network. The tab selects Internet protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4) and selects its properties on the networking. [Note – Backup your previous DNS setting if present]

Select Use The Following DNS Server Addresses: Replace both the Preferred DNS Server and Alternate DNS Server with the following digits.

Preferred DNS Server – 8  ,   8  .  8  .  8

Alternate DNS Server – 8  .   8  .  4  .  4

Click OK and close the properties windows. You must restart the connection to make the changes effective. Right-click on your connection and select Disable, and Enable within 3 seconds. Now test your internet browser to make sure that your network is working fine.
